intro

.

Vel – wish me luck… 5 days gone – rest of my life to go…..

I think its will be easier for me to update this blog much more often if I write mainly in Norwegian – especially about changing my routine regarding my eating habits ( or lack there of…) and training experiences…  But I will probably expend a bit later – and make a blog in English as well – if you want to be notified every time I write something in English – or then I start my other blog in English – please mail me on egil.viking@gmail.com  :-)

So from now : HaiDao’s Blog 海盗的博客…   will be  -  Egils blogg

I’ll tell more about it later. – but I got lots of good inspiration in Sirdal this weekend – on top of all the good inspiration I had from before….

a bit problem on the website I need to fix first :-(

I feel my energy have gotten worse and worse in the last weeks/months – so I really need to do some changes – and try to reverse the situation – I think I’ve gotten into a bad / black

circle, – and that there is many factors leading to my lowered energy level.

Tired after finishing the "race" Nordsjørittet 2010-06-12
Tired after finishing the “race” Nordsjørittet at 2010-06-12

I had a good run of 17 days with exercise in the start of May, – but my training habit failed after my bachelor party and wedding preparations (no excuse – I know – but its the explanation ).

Also my sleeping pattern is not good – and I have slept badly for a long time – always leaving me tired ( except then I should go to bed in the evening :-( )

Many times I fail to get small things done – in lack of determination to do them – maybe I have a bunch of small things to do – and in stead of doing one by one – I cant determinate which one to prioritize first – and ending up postponing it for late evening ( = less sleep ) – or leaving it undone for a long time :-(     -  making me even more stressed for later…

Of course there is many more things I could do to get my energy level improved – but I try to focus on some things first.

1. Improve my sleeping / bedtime habits – try to go to bed earlier – and much more regularly  -  As well the same for getting up in the mornings more regularly

.

2. Improve my eating habits – cut down on carbohydrates ( especially the fast carbo like sugar) both in food and drinks, increase my fiber intake.

3. Exercise more, – try to get in at least 30 minutes (medium effect) exercise – at least 5 days in the week – and hopefully more. Main focus on walking, biking (to work?) and an occasional run.  Also start training my back a little every day- and maybe even start training my strength later.    ( example link from a Norwegian newspaper : Training for slackers )

4. Try to get things done, earlier and maybe a bit faster.

5. Be more structured in general

6…..  probably some more :)

.

Maybe I will write more things about my improvement plans (maybe more details), and updates later.

The blog idea didn’t work out for me – trying to write about a Chinese character a day was to mush – and not really fun in the long run, – especially then I got less time between exam, working, planning wedding and so on… Actually using so much time writing about each character gave me less/no time to actually learn them :s
SO !  – now I plan to take it more easy – blog then I feel like it – write what I feel like – and see where it leads me – then I might structure it better after I see how I blog. – I plan to blog about 2-5 times a week – maybe more if I think its fun enough – and/or I write short :-)

btw:   close plans – change my daily diet, train more, loose weight, do some sensible around/in the house, work well and get some kind of vacation (preferable with my wife).

take care all :-)    and watch out :   -  Suddenly I blog again  ;)

Some weeks ago I got quite sick – having 8 days of over 39,5′C before I got myself put into hospital for 3 days,  and loosing ( temporary :-(   ) 10 kg in 12 days after this.  The fever did not make to big problem – but I attained multiple infections + virus in my mouth – making it VERY painful to eat , or even drink anything. Only water at 40′c was possible to get down without to much pain…  so for over 2 weeks I lived on 300 kcal a day in average….  :-(

Now – 2-3 weeks after I can eat most things again – but still bits of my tongue is not ok – and my sense of taste is very different from before….

my back/leg problems are still not fixed – but finally I got myself to MR (X-ray) today – I hope so much I can start training again soon – before I put on again all 10 lost kg  ( halfway back up already :-(   )

And I with the €[{£${€$£2 snow could disappear….   74 days in a row and counting…. and former record was 49 days….

well   all the best to you all :-)

I’ve given my self till Jan. 10th to figure out exactly what I should have as my resolutions, and my targets for 2010…

I’ll might get me self a very busy first 4 months, – as I see I should be prepared and improved well before XY’s family comes on visit in the spring/summer.  A man want to show of the little he can, of course ;-)   hehe

So here are my primary thoughts of Targets/resolutions listed :

- help XY to look for a job
- finish painting the house
- fix up the garden another bit
- train regularly ( maybe min 3 times / 5 hours a week )
- train the back extra to prevent more trouble from that side of my body :)
- learn more Chinese ( 3 times 30 min a week? + one character a day )
- finish the Nordsjørittet bike race in less than average for all the bikers
- go more bike races?
- run around the Mosvannet lake non-stop, and under 17 minutes ( for first time in 12-15 years )
- get a wedding planned, and a date set?
- write down all costs of the year daily – so I can kept an eye on how I spend my money
- eat more healthy
- improve workman skills – and get a plan for how my career will go in the future
- finish up my Bachelor degree, preferable in may – and start thinking if i should go for more or not
- loose weight of course …  -9 to-12 kg would be perfect but possible?
- clean up in the loft
- write some blog(s)
- keep having a profitable result in bets :-)
- get a better % return on my stocks then the Oslo Stock Exchange (OSEBX)
- be smart about money in general – look through the personal economy, and look for a new bank?
- season card for Viking FK, and go on the yearly trip to Birmingham + final?
- take an exiting holiday somewhere together with XY :-)

-
- more thinking is needed

I spent the minutes around midnight at the the ice on Mosvannet lake, – overlooking the fireworks from the Vålandtårnet Tower especially. I was nice to see the public fireworks, even I wished I was at the tower as planned, – but it was good to just be outdoors again – more or less first time since I injured my back.

At temperature -9′c it actually didn’t feel that cold – no wind and very dry air considering we are in the coastal city of Stavanger. My hands were quite cold after 45 minutes without gloves, but the rest of me was still pretty good and warm, – even without a thick/woolen sweater :-) .  Good for me  ;)    hehe

Tomorrow I plan to post ( the first of ) my new years resolutions, – I still need some time to think about where to set my targets, and how I want to make my chances to manage them best possible. At the moment it looks like most of them should be done first 5 months of the year – and I must make sure I don’t bite over to much…

Good luck in 2010 for all of you :-)     and if you have any good new years resolutions for your selves – please let me know in the comments :-)

…. and the whole case of my back injury is stressing me a bit. I had so much I needed/wanted to do this week before the end of the year…. both on work – and private :-(

Well I have still about 23 hours to do a little, – but feel lost here, – as the snow and slippery roads together with low temperatures basically locks me in the house here.  Even the fridge is soon empty.

A little thing I still can do is to think over 2009′s action – and wish and plan ahead for 2010. And tomorrow I will make my new years resolutions as usual. Normally I don’t keep so many of them – so I should think good this time, – and make smart ones. And not only should it be smart resolutions which is possible to keep, – but I should also think more carefully about how I can manage to fulfill my targets for 2010.

It’s not easy to fulfill my targets if I don’t have a good plan of how to fulfill them on schedule…     Hopefully I can make a good effort on my targets in 2010.

I guess most my resolutions will be more or less copies of my former ones, – so to avoiddoing the same mistakes as before on these I need to come up with better plans, – plans leading to success for a change…  :-)

Else I still is wondering about what to write about in this blog, – what else than my resolutions of course….

Maybe I’ll bring out one of my new or old hobbies, – but not sure how interesting it will all be for the internet people out there, if I start sharing my less inner thoughts about photos, Viking FK, Stavanger area, Aston Villa fc, travelling, training, investing or learning Chinese   ….   or even about reading Manga comics, Donald Duck, different statues around Stavanger, our garden plants, my 199th trip around the Mosvannet lake, local history, Backgammon matches, whiskey and beer testing, or whatever I had for dinner last night…

Well, – we’ll see – but all suggestions, tips and advices will be red with interest :-)
